Small question. My tourist visa about to finish in the next 2 days (already after 30 days extension. I would like to go out and get another 30 days in 1 day. I am now in bkk, any suggestions where can I go? How much? Best choice?

Hi, friends. My brother is flying into Thailand in a couple of days to meet up with me here. It's going to be his first time visiting. We are going to spend almost a month seeing Thailand, and afterwards we will travel to one of the neighboring country's together. Two questions. It has been brought to my attention that for his Thailand visa exempt stamp he may have to produce 20k baht, and/or a ticket of onward destination in Bangkok upon arrival. Question 1, as we are not sure what country we will visit after Thailand, I'm guessing that it doesn't matter to Thailand which country his ticket of onward destination states, correct..? But, for my brother's sake cancelling his ticket might be expensive. So, question 2, can anyone recommend a company where cancelling a flight ticket, in the event that he wants to, is inexpensive and hassle free..? To anyone who might help me out with this it is much appreciated...
