HI Guys and Girls, what's the cheapest easiest way to do a quick visa exempt border bounce? When do those vans leave from Tesco Onnut to Poi Pet? Is flying out an option too? I have to go to Laos to apply for an EDU visa but need something a bit cheaper so will probably try that next month. Thank you

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion centers around finding the cheapest and easiest method for a visa exempt border run from Thailand, particularly to Laos. Suggestions include using a van service leaving from Tesco Onnut, taking a 3rd class train for the lowest cost, or opting to fly to nearby countries like Kuala Lumpur or Singapore for a more pleasant travel experience. The comments encourage careful consideration of options and highlight the necessity to book seats in advance for the van service.

They've probably stopped it ahead of Songkran - the Mae Sot border is currently very busy with migrants crossing for Thingyan - around 8,000 people a day.
For those needing to cross at Mae Sot, the afternoon is better - huge queues in the morning.
Imagine they may reinstate the visa run van after the Songkran/Thingyan season.
Only did visa run van once when I was ignorant and stupid. Never ever again. Fly to KL or Singapore or go to Laos. Visit other parts of Asia for a few days. Check out the promotions on Air Asia. Why the rush to get back here?
