For the information of farung located Surin Province. I have lived in Sangkha now since August last year, and use the Imm office at Bak Cheong. And this despite the uninformed and disinformation of some Surin that the Bak Cheong office is now in Surin. It is most definitely being run well by very competent officers. The staff there are extremely helpful and considerate. Just did my extension of stay there - 10th Feb- (45 days before the current one expires 27 March. They offered their own (double-sided version of the penalties acknowledgements (so two fewer pieces of paper in their file). Did not need a map or copy of the household register and without even asking, they gave me a new 90-day receipt so my next online is now the middle of May.

Dears,

We are from SG and we have some “mandatory” days off to take at the end of the year .

We are considering beautiful Thailand but

1) we have a 1 y old baby and we don’t want to stay far away from hospitals (eg small islands not an option)

2) we are not sure if it s a good idea with covid and a baby touching everything…

3) is the process ( visa, covid tests..) complex?

->Would you go? WHERE would you considering the above ?

Thanks a lot

Hi guys Just an update for your benefit.

I went to the immigration office in Kap Choeng (Surin State) to extend my retirement visa. They required the bank statement and bank book be updated the day i applied ( had the bank statement done the day before and it was rejected) . Note that this was no problem last year.

Also only one person at the outside counter doing all the paperwork by hand and it took ages to process all the ten people present before me.

Got there at 9.30 am and out at 4.30 pm.

The good news is that the immigration office will relocate to Surin city next month.
