Relatively painless for us as a first extension (apart from waiting around during the 1hr lunch break).
However:
Witnessed others being turned away without the Embassy letter
They are also being picky about photos of accommodation needing to include yourself together with your landlord - some people had just brought their landlords with them and this seemed to work!
Advice (sorry if it's teaching you to suck eggs):
Go prepared with all documents printed and copied;
Double check what YOUR PARTICULAR immigration office requires before heading there;
Take pen, water, snacks, a friendly attitude and plenty of patience - barging in front of people queueing or getting annoyed with hold ups is not the way to go
Hoping to head to Trat immigration tomorrow for first visa extension of 30 day visa exempt stamp. Can anyone confirm what documentation needs to be taken eg photos inside/outside our rented house?? Printed map?? Also, do all print outs/ copies need to be done in duplicate? Or will one copy of each suffice? Finally, has anyone been to Trat and can comment on how busy etc their experience was? Cheers!
I'm on a retirement one year visa valid until August 2019 with a registered address in Trat immigration. Will fly home mid of December and return end of January 2019. As I'm planning to fly directly from Bangkok to Chang Mai when coming back for one week and then move to my registered address in Trat area do I have to go to the immigration office for a TM 30 or can I just return to my home and make the 90 reporting? Thank you in advance for your advice.
