I have a visa related question and I would really appreciate your help.

My partner and I have been living together as a family since 2010.. myself her and her youngest son.. I have mainly been on 'B' visas and tourist visas.. during this time.. I am currently on a 30 permission to say which I have extended for another 30 days.

My question is this. If my name was on her sons birth certificate as being his father, would immigration extend my permission to stay by another 60 days?? I am told they would but I'm not sure whether that is only if I am on a visa ..
