Hi All,
Hi everyone, I’m an American (28) planning to apply for the DTV through the Soft Power Muay Thai route via the DC embassy.
Based on what I’ve read in this group, the Soft Power route seems to be the more straightforward option. I genuinely plan to train Muay Thai and meet the requirements for that category. Already spent 2 years training in the kingdom 2021-22.
I held the required 500,000 baht in my account for 6 months as well.
I work fully remote for a US-based company that does not conduct business in Thailand. I have stable income, but I can’t obtain the employer documentation required for the Workcation route. My manager and team are fine with me working remotely, but HR would not formally approve it, so it’s a bit of a grey area.
My question is whether the embassy is likely to have concerns about how I support myself if I’m applying under Soft Power rather than Workcation, even though my income comes from remote work. Has anyone been in a similar situation or had issues with this during the application process?
