Will renewing my passport affect my 30-day tourist visa in Thailand?
I am in Chiang Mai, and yesterday I got my 30 day tourist extension visa. However, now I need to renew my passport, which will cancel the passport where my visa, exit card, and stamp are currently. Will there be any problem in exiting customs next month if I renew my passport?
Answer summary
A user in Chiang Mai is concerned about renewing their passport, which would cancel their current passport containing their 30-day tourist visa. Community responses suggest visiting immigration with the new passport and obtaining a letter to transfer the visa stamp to the new passport, which can be done for free.

Knowing some holidays are coming up, I hope you will have a new passport within these 30 days

Go to immigration with the letter you'll get and your passport and they'll transfer your stamp over for free
