Hi guys. I'm currently in Chiang Mai on a 30 day tourist visa. I have an apartment rented until Dec 5, but my visa expires on Nov 30. I know I can get a 30 extention, but I'm wondering if it's worth the time and money to get the extention or if I should just move on to my next destination. If I were to get the extension, I would be out of Thailand by Dec 8th (based on flight prices now). Thanks in Advanced!

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user currently in Chiang Mai on a 30-day tourist visa is contemplating whether to extend their visa for an additional 30 days at a cost of 1,900 THB or to leave Thailand by November 29 before their visa expires. The discussion emphasizes the risks of overstaying, the process of applying for an extension, and personal considerations on whether it is worth the time and money.
has enough information to decide on their own if they want to pay the 1900baht and get a 30 day extension (even though they're leaving on the 8th) OR if they're just going to bail on outta here when their current entry stamp expires..
and the only person who can decide if you should or shouldn't get a 30 day extension is YOU. How can we tell you if you should get it or should move on?
A 30 day extension is 1900baht at the immigration office.
. I don't know Chiang Mai. At CW it takes a couple of hours depending on what time you get there. It's a one visit process. Form TM7, photo, copies of passport data page, copy of entry stamp, copy of TM6, and of course 1900baht
That'll be up to you. It'll be your choice if it's worth it to go to immigration and pay the 1,900THB. I don't know how long it will take in Chang Mai.
but if you mean is it worth to go into overstay from Nov 30 till the day you leave, with the risk of jail, court, fines and blacklist in stead of apply for the 1.900 Thb cost of the Extension of Stay, I will say get the Extension.
