Will not using my tourist visa affect my future DTV application and what is the process for Iraqi citizens?

Hi everyone,

I’m an Iraqi citizen and I currently have a Thai tourist visa, but I have never entered Thailand before. My flight is in 5 days, but I’m considering cancelling my trip and applying for the DTV (Destination Thailand Visa) in January instead.

My original plan was to enter Thailand on the tourist visa and later apply for the DTV from another country.but for new rules I would wait

My questions are:

1. Could not using my current tourist visa and not entering Thailand have any negative impact on my future DTV application in January?

2. Since there is no Thai embassy in Iraq and Iraqi visa applications are handled through the relevant Thai mission abroad, does the DTV application for Iraqi citizens require an in-person interview at any stage, or is the application normally handled online unless the embassy specifically requests an interview?

I would really appreciate hearing from anyone who has experience with the DTV application process, especially applicants from countries where there is no Thai embassy.

I want apply for tourist evisa from iraq. According to the evisa portal the application goes through thai embassy in amman. My question is after completing my application can I pay my visa fees using my credit card like other countries or I have to personally visit amman to pay? I've previously visited 3 times in Thailand from a different country & always paid online by card

Likely defaults to Amman or Muscat Embassy when in Iraq. Now the ease of applying in alternative countries has ended for non citizens/res visa holders, it would appear the ability to interview may be compromised with larger countries being of distance from Embassies or Consulates and countries without either. This Will increase the use of agencies for sure.

I guess you can only apply for DTV after your SETV expires or gets used. You can't have two different visas at the same time as far as I know

No negative impact by unused yet Expired Thai Single Entry Tourist E–Visa (SETV)

As the Thai Embassy in Amman only accepts in–person Cash Payment for Thai E–Visa Fees, thus when making Payment in Cash only, then that interaction sometimes can be an informal interview about the DTV E–Visa Application
