Will my visa application be rejected if my bank balance was below 500k on the last statement?

Sep 19, 2025
I’ve made the mistake of letting my bank balance slip below 500k for the most recent statement date.

There was an emergency room visit bill that needed the funds.

Now, I’ve replenished the money above 500k, but it doesn’t show in the last statement.

Will I be able to show the current balance of my personal bank as well as investment account? Along with an explanation?

Or will my application be rejected?

Thoughts? TIA

TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster is concerned about their visa application after their bank balance dropped below 500k due to an emergency but has since replenished it. They ask if showing their current balances along with an explanation would suffice or if their application would be rejected. Community responses suggest that while regulations vary by embassy, many simply require a current balance above 500k, and some embassies may not require a full three-month history. Others advise contacting the specific embassy for clarity on their requirements.

In Australia, I sent a screen shot of my bank balance and that was approved. Other embassies have been more stringent from what I've read and are requiring anything from the screenshot to a certified letter from your bank as well as the statement.

Best to ask the embassy your applying to directly what their requirement is

Anonymous participant 884 because that what I chose to do, hear to many people losing thier monies for simple mistakes , this way if I don't get visa I get refunded , 8000 for a 5 year visa, 1600 per year , no brainer for me .

how is Vietnam not as easy? If I am a Dutch Citizen applying in Vietnam with a deposited amount of 500k in this last month will this go through?

You should have good statements for previous few months and closing balance should not be less then 500K . Usually they just see money in money out for previous months and ending balance should be more then 500K . In my case my previous months statements was showing I am receiving around 400k every month and spending some of it and keeping some of it . My ending balance was around 700K . And I had uploaded 6 month bank statement. Good luck

The final balance must always be 500k. Having less than 500k for some of the previous months is ok.

Anonymous participant You must submit with a final balance of 500k, other months could be lower but not the final balance.

thank you!! Your advice is super helpful.

So I’ll be better off waiting to submit my application until my next statement?

Then I will have 3 good months and one low.

not on this last statement. But my balance is good.

💡I have an idea.

I have multiple bank accounts with different statement dates.

If I put the 500k balance into the second account with a later statement date, all the months will be above 500k on paper.

Thoughts?
