I just had a thought. I believe the Phillipines changed their rule to the same as Thailand. Meaning you can enter the Phillipines with less than 6 months validity. You only need enough time for your stay.....BUT you need 6 months validity on the passport to apply for a visa, if you can still apply there since their update requiring a Fillipino ID card. Beware though, they won't board you back to Thailand without an onward flight out of Thailand within 30 days if you try to come back visa exempt.

The only country you can enter anywhere near here with less than 6 months validity, is Japan, provided they haven't changed the rules. And you cannot apply for any visa in Japan if your not a Japanese resident in the province you wish to apply in.

All countries in this region has the 6 months rule, your own country does not and you can easy apply for a new passport and visa before you come back.

Today 02 Jan

Minimum 6 months validity means, 1 months is 2 Feb

2 months is 2 March

3 months is 2 April

4 months is 2 may

5 months is 2 Jun

6 months is 2 Jul.

With simpel writing out 10 Jun is not going to give you entry into Laos.

You can enter Thailand as long as your passport is valid until your planned stay (means same day your admitted to stay stamp)... if you can go and back to Thailand first.
