TLDR : Answer Summary
The response to whether you will receive a red stamp on your passport (or any similar indication) if your ED visa application is denied varies by consulate. Some consulates may directly inform you of the denial at the time of application, while others may return your passport without a visa or with a visa marked as void. It is recommended to follow the guidance of your school and ensure you meet all requirements set by the consulate.

when you don't get the answer you want, don't make a new topic asking the same thing. NO ONE can tell you whether you'll get your passport handed back to you and they just don't accept your visa application OR if they will accept the application and your money and then VOID the visa in the passport and give it back.

Listen to your school, go where they say to go, have ALL the requirements of the consulate you're going to..

Clem Aidan. The 30 visa exampt rule resets at the start of the year, but not the visas. In 2020, the Thai government will not ignore the visas you got in 2019.

What the Thai government is looking for is abuse, i.e. are you using the wrong visa for your purpose?

The "reset" button for the visas currently occurs when you get a new passport. HOWEVER, the prior passport information will be in the computer at immigration, and they can also deny entry.

To my knowledge, the immigration database and MOE aren't connected. Immigration won't know you are filing for the visa until you hand the documents to consulate.

How do you have an entry that you can cancel? Can you expand on that?

like I said many times my school have no clues where I should go. Since I still have one entry possible with my passport I think I'm going to cancel and not try to ask for a 2nd visa.

I'll leave the country at the end of this month, come back after few days, then leave end of December, come back early January. My entries count should be 'reset' and then I could try do apply for a visa in January or February.

I'm not working in Thailand and I'm genuinely looking to set up a legit company very soon. I just need more time.

I fully understand that Immigration laws, rules and regulations do change on daily basis and for some every 30 minutes but in real life, we just copy and paste the same advice as 1 hour ago

Robert Lagas Depends on the Thai consulate, some will directly say no when you apply, others hand back the passport and some documents the next day without visa. And some consulates split up the work load where one person is stamping the passport and another one checking all documents, in that case you can have the visa inside with the text Void without prejudice.

Sorry about that, I didn't not saw your answer on my other post. I'm not sure if you're aware that, but now on Facebook you don't receive a notification if someone comment your message without "tagging" you.
