Will I be able to enter Thailand without my spouse visa approval if my flight is tomorrow?

Dec 4, 2024
I applied for a spouse visa in HCM on the afternoon of the 28th afternoon.

The status of the checking document was changed to pending approval on Sunday, and until today, neither additional documents have been requested nor approval has been received. I have submitted all the required docs as:

PP bio

HCM arrival stamp

Flight ticket

Hotel booking in HCM

6months bank statement with 500k Baht under my name

Cover letter

My husband's DTV visa

Sponsorship letter from my husband

Marriage certificate

What I'm worried about now is that my flight is tomorrow afternoon, so if I don't have the approval yet, will I be able to pass through the Thai immigration as the arrival visa?

Please also assist sharing if you have any experience about what to do for the stamp if I get approved after arriving in Thailand 🥹

Thank you 🙏

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user applied for a spouse visa in HCM and is concerned about entering Thailand tomorrow if their approval has not been received. They provided all required documents, but the status remains pending. Comments suggest that due to the Thai National Day celebrations, visa processing might be delayed further, and the user may not hear back until after the holiday. They were advised on the implications of entering Thailand on a different visa or visa-exempt status while their spouse visa is processing.

Because of Thai National Day celebrations, expect even the Visa Section at the Thai Consulate to not be processing visas at full capacity.

For instance, this past Monday they held a grand reception in the evening, so expect that the Consulate probably were working more on National Day celebrations

You probably won't hear until the 6th which is 5 working days. I'd sit tight until then in case they have further questions

If you enter Thailand on another visa or visa exempt, you will then need to exit the country and re enter again when you have the DTV. Technically, you shouldn’t be entering Thailand on visa exempt while processing the DTV. Also as an FYI, tomorrow is a Thai holiday.

Hasn’t even been 5 working days. Be patient. Someone else posted that they submitted their spouse visa on the 27th and it was approved today at 1pm. This probably means your visa would be approved tomorrow, but maybe the day after because of the holiday.

Thank you for the information. Unfortunately I just knew that tomorrow is a holiday after I bought the ticket as I calculated that tomorrow will be 5 days since I have applied the visa 🥲
