Hi everyone! I’d like some advice about applying for a dependent visa from countries near Thailand.
My partner has a DTV visa, which he applied for from our home country and got approved. Now we would like to apply for me as a dependent. I’m currently in Thailand, and instead of going back to my home country, I’m considering applying from a nearby country like Vietnam, Indonesia, or Malaysia, as it would be more affordable.
Has anyone here applied as a dependent from a different country than the main applicant? Or do you know any similar cases? I’d really appreciate if you could share your experience, whether it went smoothly, and which documents were required for the dependent application.

A user is seeking advice on applying for a dependent visa in Thailand from a nearby country, as their partner holds a DTV visa. They are currently in Thailand and are contemplating applying from Vietnam, Indonesia, or Malaysia instead of returning to their home country. Community members share tips, including required documents like a DTV copy, marriage certificate (if applicable), and bank account statement. Concerns about specific countries for applications are also raised.
You say partner, unless you are legally married you can't apply as a dependant as you have to show your marriage certificate as part of the application process
