Hi everyone and thanks as always for all the help and info. I have a test and go Thai pass that is still valid and I am traveling to Bangkok from USA on January 19. I am eligible for a booster shot on January 14th. Do you think the booster could affect my PCR test I will get on January 18?

Thanks for your advice.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The poster inquires if receiving a COVID-19 booster shot just before their PCR test for traveling to Bangkok could potentially affect the test results. Community responses present mixed advice: some suggest a booster could affect the test outcome and recommend a 3-week gap before testing, while others report no negative impact of a booster received shortly before testing, advocating for a timing of 3-4 days prior to the PCR test.

Thanks for all the comments, I did ask my doctor he said no problem… he would not get it the day before but 3-4 days before the PCR test ok. I will keep you all updated on what happens thanks again

No. I had my booster 4 days before I travelled. I asked the medical staff about any effect and they said absolutely not. Tested negative prior to departure and again on arrival.

I asked a medical advisor as well and was told the opposite. I wouldn’t risk it personally.

Yes, it will affect your test. You need a 3 week window to not test positive. Don’t risk it.
