What should travelers with a COVID recovery certificate expect regarding PCR tests when entering Thailand via the Thailand Pass?

Hello,

Has anyone entered via the Thailand Pass who has recovered from COVID and has a certificate of recovery? How'd the process with the PCR tests go?

There's a pre-departure and an arrival PCR test, both of which would presumably test positive if you've recovered within 90 days. Bit worried about the Thailand side getting messed up forcing us to quarantine despite having the letters.

Thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
Travelers who have recovered from COVID and possess a recovery certificate are concerned about the process of entering Thailand via the Thailand Pass, specifically regarding the necessity and implications of PCR tests. Experience shared by community members indicates that while a positive PCR test could occur if recovered within 90 days, recovery certificates may exempt travelers from quarantine. Some users reported successful entries despite having tested positive upon arrival. There is no requirement for PCR tests for departing Thailand if the airline and destination country only require an antigen test.

Do you need a PCR test to leave Thailand. We are leaving for Canada end of March. We only need a negative Antigen test to enter. Hopefully only one needed.

Thailand has no exit requirements. So if your airline doesn’t require one and Canada only wants to see an antigen test, then you only need to do an antigen test

Me. I tested positive for covid Christmas morning I did a NHS pcr test ten days before I flew tested negative on Friday 25th fit to fly test negative. Arrived in Thailand 28th Feb tested negative just did 2nd test today 5th day tested negative I've not been out since I took first test on day one.

I think the recovery cert exempts you from positive tests for 90 days from the date of it's issue.

my question was really more around “I have a certificate of recovery”, but how likely is it to be respected and accepted when I test positive on the arrival PCR in Thailand. 🙂

@Ryan ********
It will be accepted. See the other comment on your post. It's accepted by airlines and by Thai Immigration. That's what Ive been trying to explain to

Martin *********
Why would you even go to the airport with a positive test results. Enjoy the u.k night

@Steve ******

the Test and Go has a provision for recovery letter if you test positive on pre boarding PCR, just wasn’t 100% sure for the second PCR test once in Thailand - just picked up my cert of recovery today with passport number on it so should hopefully be good to go!

He'll be able to board the flight with the recovery certificate. That's the whole point of the post! Doh! That's why he needs the recovery certificate. Read the other post of someone who tested positive on arrival but didnt have to quarantine because they had a recovery cert.

@Steve ******
i still would not want to chance it your rolling the dice how many hospitals in Thailand are going to accept that ££££ . I did a NHS test a week before i travelled as i had covid January. You say he can board the flight nine times out of ten its up to the person at the desk.

@Steve ******
yes and vaccination history not your past covid history
Steve *******
@Martin ********
Both. You aint getting on the flight without a negative PCR test or a recovery cert.

@Steve ******

Steve *******
@Martin ********
The OP is asking about the pre departure and arrival PCR tests.
Martin *********
@Steve ******
have you not read it . I just read it again read it
Martin *********
@Steve ******
check in or thai immigration they just want to see proof of vaccination
Steve *******
@Martin ********
Check in and Immigration will want to see a pre-departure PCR test. They did when I flew LHR to BKK in November and that was with the most relaxed 'test and go' entry.
Martin *********
@Steve ******
they don't even ask for it
Steve *******
@Martin ********
Who doesnt ask for it?

My friend and her baby tested positive on arrival last week and their levels were well above 30 (meaning covid detected but not transmissible) and after some back and forth between the bungalow owner and a nurse (on the phone) they were approved and free to leave the room
Sascha **********
Ps: they had covid 16 days before departure
