Hey everyone just have a question regarding pcr test. If someone is going to Thailand in 3 weeks but is positive now, will they still come up positive then? Will a covid recovery certificate help with this?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user seeks advice on the implications of currently testing positive for COVID-19 and whether a recovery certificate will help when traveling to Thailand in three weeks. Community responses suggest that PCR tests can yield false positives for up to 90 days, and most agree that obtaining a recovery certificate is crucial. Personal experiences shared highlight that having such a certificate helped avoid quarantine and ensured smooth entry into Thailand.
I just answered this for someone else, I got got Covid just before my flight to Thailand, recovered and did a PCR test the day before my flight, came up negative, arrived in Phuket, did another PCR test and came up positive, fortunately I got a letter of recovery 2 days before the flight, produced it to the hotel management when the positive results arrived at 2am and after they sent it to the Thailand medical authorities for authentication they cleared me to go at 11am that morning, getting that certificate was the best thing I did, saved me thousands of dollars/THB, my holiday was awesome 😊
How did you get a letter of recovery and what exactly did it say? Went to 2 different doctors in Rabigh, Saudi Arabia and both refused to give me one. Only have a stamped copy of the positive test taken Feb. 3rd.
will do a video call with you and accept your positive test result and issue you a recovery certificate. Get in contact with them if you have trouble getting one at home.
i just went to the doctor and asked for one, in Australia when you get Covid you have to register on a government cite which i did, the doctor accessed this information and wrote me a certificate.

Ps, The authorities do not want to send you to Quarantine, its not good for Tourism, the certificate gave them a reason to clear me, they were happy to see it and I was happy with the outcome 😊

PCR’s are know to give false results for up to 90 days. As for a recovery certificate, depends on the airline. I flew qatar and had to change my flight because of a positive result.

Possibly. There’s more on here who may no a little more. My brother was still positive in hotel after a negative for flight ….they did a blood check and said he wasn’t transmitting the virus so he could go away from hotel.
