TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires if it's possible to obtain a criminal record clearance and medical certificate in Thailand for their ME non O-A visa application at the Thai consulate in London, using online methods. Responses indicate that the criminal record check must be from the UK, while the medical certificate may be accepted from Thailand, though verification with the consulate is recommended. There's also a discussion about the validity period of these documents, generally understood to be around 3 to 6 months.

Ron Angel ... Do you know IF the UK will accept a Police Record Report from Thailand? Its reported the Medical Certificate can be done in Thailand. Is that correct?
David *******
how long are the criminal checks and medical checks valid for?
Bell *******
I think Acro site (UK) says it is valid for 6 months for visa purposes. Please check their FAQ. Anyhow I have just emailed them re this.

Police check must come from U.K. medical could come from Thailand as I did this previously. However I am currently putting together another OA visa application online and saw just today that the online application states medical certificate should be from the country of application (UK). Not sure how strict they are as I have one to use from here and am still going to submit it ( my UK Dr wanted to charge in excess of £200 and take 2 weeks to run all tests)

ahh so I guess that means most people should just use the UK address and get the background report from the link they provide ;)

it implies that if you reside somewhere else you need two, one from U.K. and one from Thailand (assuming that’s where you reside). This is the wording:

Certificate of criminal record clearance from own country and country of permanent residence with validity of at least 3 months. Applicants residing in the United Kingdom will need to have a police clearance issued only from here.

It says the police check has to be from the UK for UK residents, I don't know how they handle UK citizens who reside in thailand about the background check.

@Ph**
on the chance that they WILL take a police check from Thailand you get them here:

and if they'll take a medical certificate from thailand make sure you download the london consulate's copy of it and have the doc here sign and stamp it :)

I think the only way you're going to find out is to contact the consulate in London by email or phone and find out.

I know in the US they won't take a thai police record check for the O-A visa application but they WILL accept the thai medical certificate.

Tod Daniels Good tip on the medical certificate for americans to Washington Thai Embassy. Thank you.

NO, AFAIK, you must get a criminal records check from the place that the thai consulate in London links to on the information page about the O-A visa, (even though it says that UK residents need to use that place I think they enforce it to all UK passport holders).
