What documents do I need to submit for a DTV visa application as a remote worker in Thailand?

ORIGINAL POSTER
I am considering applying for the DTV visa.

I am Dutch, and currently based in The Netherlands. I have a Dutch bank account with more than the required 500k THB in it, registered on my Dutch address. I will apply at the Thai embassy in The Netherlands.

However, I wonder what to submit to satisfy the 'purpose of visit: workaction' requirement.

I used to live in Bulgaria. There, I set up a Bulgarian company. I still use this to this day to receive my income from my YouTube channel (which is my main source of income). It's just a basic LLC type company with a single owner (me).

I have a business bank account for this company, which is registered on an address in Bulgaria. I don't have any clients I work for, it's just for my YT channel (AdSense; sponsorships payments).

Questions I have:

- Would it be enough to provide screenshots from my YouTube channel to satisfy the workcation requirement?

- Would I need to write a letter on behalf of the company that I as an individual am allowed to work remotely?

- Or would I have to submit all kinds of company documents like deed of incorporation etc (which are in Bulgarian...)?

Any advice is greatly appreciated. 🙏🏻

TLDR : Answer Summary
A Dutch national is seeking guidance on applying for the DTV visa while residing in the Netherlands. They have sufficient funds in a Dutch bank account and a Bulgarian LLC for income from their YouTube channel. The main concern is what documentation is needed to meet the 'workaction' purpose for the visa. Suggestions include providing proof of YouTube earnings, correspondence from the Bulgarian company regarding remote work permission, and possibly company documents or an employment contract. There's also advice to consult the Thai embassy for clarity.

Good question.

Don’t rely on Meta/FB to provide you with single unequivocal responses to your questions.

Better to approach the Thailand Embassy/Consulate in the Netherlands with your questions and await their response.

You are essentially already doing what the workcation requires.

Your company is based in Bulgaria but you live and work for it in the Netherlands.

All you need to do is describe this situation in a cover letter that states that you will be working for your Bulgarian company.

If you need a step by step guide with templates for cover letter remote work agreement and checklist for all the paperwork check out dtvquickdotcom. I used it and it saved me a lot of time and I got approved in 4 days in Sydney.

You own a company, write yourself an employment contract. Stipulate your salary, show you receive that salary via your bank and write yourself a letter giving yourself permission to work remotely from Thailand and stating that you won't work with any Thai entities or clients inside Thailand

YouTube is internet based, ie worldwide, show payments from YouTube and links to your channel. Use your Dutch bank account to prove the 500k. They can only request more info if this doesn't suffice

Non Imm O based on being over 50 can require 800k or 65k per month. Not all Non O visas require 800k

You need to provide details of the company, the structure and a letter to yourself (the director) that the company allows you to work remotely. Earnings are not important, the 500k equivalent balance is. Workcation much better route long term than soft power.

Seek professional legal advice instead of the Facebook squad. You don't want to screw this up on bad advice

Maybe write a letter showing that the (your) Bulgarian company is employing you, already working remotely. Show bank statements that you have a regular salary from that. Leave out the YT bit

Can’t answer for your company setup. It may be confusing to the embassy as it’s Bulgarian rather than Dutch.

Perhaps a cooking class or Muay Thai may be easier for them to comprehend.
