Hi, I have noticed my first name is misspelled on my tourist visa which has been granted using the UK evisa system, JONN instead of JOHN, everything else is correct, will this be a problem? I have used many tourist visas in the past but never with a spelling mistake, thanks.

Have contacted, waiting for reply, if I don't get it resolved I just go visa exempt and extend, no major drama.

Nah. Use it anyway and only go without the visa if they say something.

Problem, for sure!

Contact the embassy

Why did you misspell your name?

@John *******
Come on, Jonn, don't you always mistype your name?

he didnā€™t! The embassy did

Can't figure out why they don't ask for first and last name on passport with other middle names on a separate line /box ...it causes so much confusion but the rectification of this problem seems simple ..
David *******
i would say that someone will not accept misspelling for sure

Fwiw, when I originally applied for a visa I entered my name First Last and it was rejected because on my passport is First Middle Last though nothing on the application stated ā€˜as it appears in your passportā€™. I had to pay and apply again.

My point, donā€™t leave any room for something to go wrong, you could very well be sent back at the border. šŸ™

they will likely not even notice as it is not their native language and most don't read English well.

I've seen names backwards and spelling errors go missed many times.

But your attitude is right, if there's a problem just roll with It.

and an "N" looks a lot like an "H", especially when next to another "N". That's probably how the error happened in the first place. I'd make the effort to have it fixed but not say a word while going through immigration. If they say something, then let them know the attempt was made.

I suppose it depends if the immigration officer notices, if they do, it's possible they could reject it, personally I would contact the embassy and make them aware there is an error, hopefully they would just alter it in there system, and send the pdf email out again for you to print, how long before you travel??
