TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires whether a 3-day visa overstay, which has been paid, will affect their ability to apply for a visa from Bali. Comments indicate that while the overstay may raise concern, its short duration (3 days) and the payment already made could minimize issues. It was noted that applications must now be made through the consulate in Jakarta rather than Bali. Some responses suggest being humble during immigration procedures, with opinions varying on whether the overstay will have significant repercussions.
It shouldn't be an issue but hey an overstay is an overstay and it will remain in their database so no guarantee.

They do look at over stays not just in thailand but in other countries as well. there is no telling how this will effect you. It probably won't but they do look at it.

By the way, you no longer apply at the consulate in Bali, but only in Jakarta. You can stay in Bali, but there's a risk that you might be invited to an interview, which I could imagine happening in your case if you're traveling with your whole family and then have to fly to Jakarta, because that would obviously incur additional costs. The overstay itself probably won't cause any problems because it was only three days and you paid for it, so everything is covered.
Of course he can apply from Bali, he can also apply from any other place in Indonesia, but the visa processing takes place in Jakarta and any interviews will also take place in Jakarta, that's what I wanted to say. I'm not panicking anyone, but here in the FB group is a report from someone who was invited to an interview in Jakarta. You can read it. I'd rather prepare for the worst-case scenario than have real panic later.

In general no. But one never knows. If you want to feel more save, the only thing you can do is get a new passport.
If Bali is particularly picky or lenient or "just normal", I do not know.
You are pretty naive.. The overstay is notet at her/ his profile in The database.. So a New passport is a waste of money .. if its the first overstay and 3 days, there is nothing to worry about, as long as you behave Humble in immigrations..
You recommended him to renew his passport to hide the overstay... that doesnt get rid of the overstay.. Thats the naivity i am talking about .. So there is no problem.. Just a realley bad advice you throw out...
