Why was there increased scrutiny at Don Mueang immigration yesterday?
Hello guys! Yesterday entering thru don mueang I was stopped by immigration around 1 hour. Currently I have student visa since 2023, but I saw some other guys in the room with DTV, just be careful as immigration is checking everything while getting inside of the country. This has never happened to me in my 2 years in Thailand.

Its not wise to leave Thailand with a current Ed Visa in your passport.
Thai immigration officers are cracking down on those who have the Ed Visa and Volunteer Visas and leave Thailand and seek reentry.
The fraud in the issue of those Thai Visas in recent years has prompted the crackdown.
Even with a reentry permit and letter from the School, Thai Immigration Officers are still asking questions on arrival, wondering why you are not studying and attending your course classes.

Yeh I choose Philippines because tourist visa is 3 years and they don't mind you being there. I will move there soon 😄

they’re just people doing a crappyJob to feed their families too. Make their life easy - never had any issues.
Did have one IO in Miami question me and my gf a lot because she was pretty and I’m not lol - suspected people trafficker maybe.
But it was just a few weeks holiday in key west, so it was what it was…. Just another dude doing his job - and if catches an actual people trafficker, I’m happy to have wasted 30 mins. It was still a wait for our bags anyway.

Too much drama, how do you know they had DTV’s, if they were they will be there for a reason, suspect applications they might be checking but they are not going to haul into an interview room the thousands of genuine DTV holders 🤷🏾♀️

Since I have my DTV, I entered Thailand more than 10 times by different way (land border, airport) I never get a question. What you describe must be very rare
