Request for Advice on Thailand DTV Visa Reapplication

Hello,

I am currently applying for a Thailand DTV (Remote Work) visa in Ho Chi Minh City. It has been about two weeks. During the application process, the authorities requested additional documents twice. I submitted all the required documents as requested, but my visa was still rejected.

I am a foreigner, but I have a company and long-term residence status in Vietnam, so all my documents are genuine and valid. However, the rejection did not include a specific reason, so I am unsure what caused it.

I suspect the only possible issue might be with my financial documents in the final submission. Since there were many documents, I submitted:

* a 6-month bank statement from the account used to pay my company’s social insurance, and

* a balance certificate from another bank (I only submitted the balance confirmation without the transaction history).

I also did not include any explanation letter. Could this be the reason for the rejection?

I would like to ask if you have encountered a similar case, and I would greatly appreciate any explanation or advice so I can better prepare for my next application.

Thank you very much for your guidance! 🙏

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is facing challenges with their DTV visa application process in Ho Chi Minh City, which has been rejected without a specific reason despite providing requested documentation. They suspect issues with their financial documents, particularly regarding their bank statements and not including a balance confirmation. Community members suggest common pitfalls and recommend potentially applying from Hanoi instead, emphasizing the importance of demonstrating consistent salary payments in bank statements.

The documents you supplied are not the documents they are requesting. They don’t need to company’ social insurance, etc. they want to see money going into your private bank account that aligns with payment receipts from your business - paying yourself

They are asking for pay slips, tax reductions, paid bonusses, overtimes - hell no! What is going on with the HCMC embassy? None of such things are required by the law underlying the DTV. All it asks for is 500k THB in savings in your name and demonstration of remote work. I feel sorry for you. Clearly to avoid this embassy.

Bob D'Andrea You have an "intersting" understanding of governance. The law pertaining to the DTV visa (including its requirements) are officially published in the Royal Thai Gazette, if you care to read it yourself. As for monetary requirements, all that said law asks for is to show at least 500k THB in savings:

Frank-Steven Eichholtz That’s right, I’m not sure whether it’s because the process at Ho Chi Minh City is strict or because the documents provided were not sufficient and accurate. But I have already provided everything they requested

What about traveling to Hanoi for a short couple days of vacation and apply from there? It's much easier than HCM and you are not leaving the country.

RubyChestnut08 I am currently living and working in Ho Chi Minh City, so I’m wondering if I travel to Hanoi to apply, how should I adjust my documents?

For example, do I need to update my proof of residence or any other documents to reflect my stay in Hanoi during the application?

If you've been rejected your application has gone and you'd have to pay and apply again.

Not including 3 months of bank statements can be a reason for refusal, they usually want to see the transaction history in your personal account and in your case it sounds like they specifically wanted to see your incoming salary payments highlighted in that history

In my first submission, I provided proof of income using a bank balance confirmation. For the second submission, the authorities requested that my salary be clearly shown and highlighted in the bank statement, so I used the account where my salary is received to provide this information.

However, due to the large file size, I was unable to upload all documents. Therefore, I only submitted the bank statement with highlighted salary transactions and did not include the original balance confirmation.

I would like to ask whether the absence of the balance confirmation could be the reason why my application was rejected.

Minh Anh the problem is “due to the large file size” .

you need to use app for making the file size lower.

I met almost same request in the picture you included and solved. Need to figure out how to provide all they want to see

to be honest I'm not familiar with Vietnamese bank statements but this appears to show salary income from November and December last year so nothing this year and the balance looks like it's been cut and pasted from elsewhere. Why not just supply the complete statements in their entirety with highlighted salary payments? Salary seems very variable, are you a freelancer or do you have an employment contract?

And did you include a letter allowing you to work remotely from Thailand and that you would not work with any Thai entities or clients inside Thailand?
