Bangkok Bank nightmare

So not asking for advise but giving some.

Looks like the above have been asked to check on the status of their customers.

So my card less withdrawal today was refused twice so the message told me to go into bank because of an error. 40 minutes waiting in the bank to be seen. Then told my account had no problem and went to the outside machine on Pattaya Klang and it worked. I thought at the same time I would get an ATM card as I left the last one in a machine about 6 months ago. I have done this a few times and I’m willing to pay the 100

Baht for a new one.

Oh no not this time the girl tells me I have a retirement visa and she need to update her system and did I own or rent. Told her I own my condo and have done since my 1 st visa 8 years ago. Also told her I had a card 6 months ago and that nothing has changed. So this was just enough.

I left and put the 100 baht back in my pocket.

WTF is going on with these idiots they think I’m going home to get the paperwork and sit there for another 45 minutes.

No I will use my bank for everything now and they can go forth and multiply.
Summary so far

The author was refused a new card without additional paperwork, prompting dissatisfaction with the bank's customer service. Commenters respond with their own insights and experiences, highlighting varying levels of service and suggesting the importance of having proper documentation when dealing with banks in Thailand.

If it's regularly occurring that you forget your card, then you should probably not have one. Banks can refuse you or even close your account. It's normal practice, not just in Thailand.

Paul Durkan I left my card in the machine in udon. It's easy to do since they use ancient machine and swipe a card like in America. I went into the central plaza to the Bangkok Bank. And at first they didn't want to give me a card because my account was in Bangkok. I said oh you just let your customers just ne stranded with no cash to get back to home. The police over heard me getting angry. They were there for another matter. The police came and talked to the manager and all the sudden they were able to give me a new card. Thai banks have absolutely no skills in customer service or understand customer retention.
