Why is my visa application still pending document check despite a lack of required documents?

Pending document check means they haven't checked the documents yet right? For soft power there aren't really many documents to check. How can this take such long time?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses the long wait time for a Thai visa document check, specifically for the DTV visa associated with soft power activities. Respondents suggest several reasons for the delay, including a backlog due to Thai holidays, a queue of applicants, and some embassies' inefficiencies. The original poster notes that their home country has a low volume of visa applications, questioning why the process is taking longer than expected.

It's not about the documents, but number of applicants. They need to vet not only DTV applications, but all sort of visa applications.

I'm in my home country, small country on the other side of the world from Thailand. I doubt there are that many people applying for visa to Thailand here right now. When you apply for a tourist visa, single or multi, it usually comes the next day.

Monday and Tuesday of this week were Thai holidays. So that's already going to cause a backlog.

Maybe because you're on a queue like everyone else? Maybe because you're not the only one applying for a visa? Aren't you applying for a 5 years visa?

Be patient. You will need it in Thailand.

Participante anónimo what country is that? Some embassies are in charge of more than one country, so they must vet applicants from several countries. For example, the Embassy in Santiago, Chile, also processes applications from Costa Rica and other Central American countries.
