The recent announcement of closing down again in Phuket has raised concerns and reactions among the community, particularly regarding the travel restrictions and the implications for tourists. Some commenters emphasize that despite the shutdown, Phuket remains open and can still offer a beautiful vacation experience, as travelers can enjoy the island after receiving a negative COVID-19 test, highlighting the importance of maintaining a positive outlook on the situation.

I don’t understand all the fuss. Phuket is still open. Just means your holiday starts on a tropical paradise instead of polluted big city. You still only need to stay in your hotel room until you get a negative result. Then you roam around the island. After a week you can go anywhere in Thailand. Open up your minds. ALL of Thailand is beautiful.
You seem to fail to comprehend the BS the Thai government has just created for people who booked flights, rooms since they reopened 2-3 weeks ago and closed again,
Thailand just shot it self in the foot with the world watching ☹️
But it makes it a very expensive holiday. I have never paid tht much for a hotel in Thailand. I would stay at less expensive hotels in Australia. In any event Phuket is getting very real tourists. Most are long term Thailand livers who have been stuck in their passport country and just want to get home to wives and families and not be stuck in an expensive hotel.
enjoy your holiday in oz. I hope your not going to qld. RT-PCR test before you go. I hope no one with you tests positive. You will be staying at a quarantine hotel and paying $3000 for the privilege. It’s all about perspective, flying to Thailand only 0.13% of tourists are positive on arriving. They are transiting through the Middle East. Your chances of testing positive are almost zero. You still only have to stay in your hotel room until you get your negative result. Then you can go anywhere on the entire island for the 7 days. After that you can fly to Bangkok for under $100. Keep an open mind and look at the possibilities of what could happen wherever you go. In Australia if you are on the same plane as someone who tests positive, then the entire plane goes into quarantine. I hope you make the choice that is right for you. I came to Thailand on December 8 and am having a great time.
OK if you like Phuket, but if you were returning home or planning on spending your holiday elsewhere, without wasting time in a so called "tropical paradise" you would be a little pissed off.
It has always been a risk that things might change, Thailand has been changing the rules so frequently during Covid. Every single person knew that before they started making their arrangements to travel!
