Immigration just charged me 1000B for home vist.. I just returned for Partum Thani immigration to extended my NON O imm visa based on marriage... as it's my first marriage extension immigration officer explained to my Thai wife that all new marriage extension will have a home vist within 7 days... we have no problems what's for ever with a home vist as I haven't got anything to fear... when my appreciation was checked I was given a slip to return in 30 days for the final stamp.. I was then told to report to the pay desk to pay my 1900B extension fee which I had a receipt, then I was asked for 1000B for the home vist fee I asked my wife to get a receipt for the 1000B which immigration officer didn't reply...

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user was charged a 1000B fee for a home visit related to their first extension of a NON-O visa based on marriage. Despite having paid a 1900B extension fee, they were asked for this additional fee without a receipt. Comments from the community reveal mixed experiences regarding home visits and associated fees, with some users stating they were never asked to pay anything for home visits, while others raised concerns about potential corruption and the necessity of such charges. There seems to be inconsistency in policies between different immigration offices in Thailand.

Immigration is introduced last year with no tips, this does not prevent they keep asking for tips and as long as foreigners keep on paying it, it will continue. Not much you can do after payments are made.
Hmmm if its a corrupt payment and you pay it you perpetuate the corrupt practise. Immigration appear to be cracking down on this stuff might be an idea to ask his name and employee number then offer to pay the hone visit fee at the office whilst getting a receipt.
I get a home visit every year when I renew my Non O extension from Samut Prakan IO. I have never been asked to pay a fee. Always polite and offer a drink is all it costs
No receipt then you should not pay. If immigration wants to travel around to check applications they use their budget. No need to sponsor them, other than offer a glass of water, coffee or tea during the visit.
I did ask the wife to get a receipt, but I could see on my wife's face that immigration wouldn't give us.. My wife said don't make trouble or a seen... π
Well, here in Chiangmai the officers asked me to bring a neighbor to the immigration instead of visiting me at home... but charging for home visit is new for me. Let's see what others will comment.
