Answer summary

A user encountered an issue attempting to extend their visa in Thailand, being told they could only apply when 5 days or less remained on their visa. This sparked a discussion among others who shared similar experiences at different immigration offices, highlighting a common rule that extensions are typically only accepted in the last week before the visa expires.

I've had the same experience in Jomtien, must wait until the last 5 days to request a 30 day extension.

chiang mai is good (but BUSY) and they let you get extensions when you have 45 days or less left on your current stamp.

Same in kanchanaburi, only accept you in the last week before stamp expire. And the next visit, wich they give you the date, is always one month, but then they let you come back the next day because bkk is not ready with your papers ...
