Hello, I’m going to apply for the DTV but I’m not sure whether I should go for the soft power or remote worker route.
My plan is to attend soft power activities (regardless of DTV) for a few months but I wonder whether it will hold up in the long run since it doesn’t really make that much sense for one to do the activities for 5 years.
Would it be okay if I show my earnings as a remote worker during future entries if I initially apply under soft power? Was wondering since the DTV visa document itself doesn’t really state which category it was issued under, and I earn in my local currency through my company.
If anyone has a good idea on which type (soft power vs remote) would be more suitable in the long run, please enlighten me.
Thanks in advance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is contemplating whether to apply for the DTV visa under the Soft Power or Remote Worker category. They plan to participate in soft power activities but are uncertain about the long-term viability of this route. They inquire if they can switch to showing remote work earnings after initially applying under soft power, noting that the DTV visa documentation does not specify the category. Community comments suggest considering the ongoing nature of Workaytion for future proof.
