Good day. I hope you can help me. I'll be arriving in bangkok by august 9. I'll be studying in a university. Can I get an Ed visa without returning to the Philippines?

Some times the universities can get a 90 day Non-Immigrant Type ED visa issued inside the country, sometimes they send you paperwork to get it in your country BEFORE you come here, and sometimes they give you paperwork to get the 90 day single entry ED visa from a thai consulate in a neighboring country after you get here.

If you are coming from the Philippines, you should ask your university to send you documents and then apply for a proper visa. But if you choose to go out without securing it, the PH immigration will consider you as a "tourist" and you need to satisfy them that you are traveling as a "tourist", you can't simply tell them that you are going out to study in a university without any proof of acceptance from that university.

the University will normally send the papers to you, so you enter with an ED visa, or they will help you with application inside Thailand. But if you like to travel, talk to your University if they can give you the papers to apply in neighbor countries.
