I’m planning the DTV Soft Power visa and trying to figure out the best place to apply. Which city is the easiest right now with no “seasoning” requirement for the 500k? I was thinking Ho Chi Minh, but open to changing if another embassy is smoother.

If anyone’s done it recently, would love to know which city is the most straightforward and not picky about how long the money has been sitting there. ( Will have it for about 3weeks by then)

They may want to see 3 full months of statements but as long as the 3rd month has an ending balance of 500k baht that should be OK. Be aware though that with soft power they can also ask you to show how you will be able to support yourself for the 5 years duration of the visa

As far as I am aware you can not open a Bank account with a DTV Visa.

The formal general requirement is that the amount must have been in the account for at least three months before you can apply. I have no overview of consulates that do not follow this according to the guidelines, but in general there is consistent feedback that applying for a DTV in Ho Chi Minh City is quite straightforward
