TDAC: Where I boarded? Spain or Layover France?
Answer summary
In discussions regarding the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC), users are debating whether to indicate their boarding location as Spain or their layover in France when traveling to Thailand. The consensus is that the country of origin (Spain) should be listed, considering that the TDAC requires where the traveler boarded their flight. However, several comments express differing opinions, suggesting that the last leg of the journey from France should be noted due to health regulations, especially related to yellow fever certification. Ultimately, the boarding location should align with the flight that lands in Thailand.

I don’t know why this confuses people. You are travelling from the country you start your journey from unless you leave the transit airport and enter that country. Your flight number for TDAC purposes is the one you land in Thailand on. If you leave the airport on your lay over ( transfer) that’s where you started your journey from.

So schwer ist das nicht!

Du steigst, in Bangkok aus dem Flugzeug!

Jetzt nimmst die Stadt, in der Du das Flugzeug bestiegen hast. 🤷🏼‍♂️🤷🏼‍♂️🤷🏼‍♂️

It’s amazing how a simple question like this breathes so much anger and hate towards those that answer the question differently to someone else.

This world is definitely fucked when people just can’t be civil to each other.

Exempli Gratia-

I travelled to Thailand last August. My residence is Cyprus and my journey started from Larnaca. My transfer location was Amman. So my last leg is Amman. My residence is Larnaca. Like this.

George Joachim they are only interested in the flight into Thailand, stop overs are not being in that country unless you exit through their immigration.

Google says you put the start country Which is Spain .but you put the flight no of your last destination if you had a new flight to catch in a different country.

For every entry into Thailand, non-Thai citizens are required to have completed the TDAC, regardless of whether they have a visa or an existing stay permit.

The TDAC is not a visa. The electronic TDAC is just replacing the former TM6 arrival & departure paper card you used to fill out aboard your flight before you entered Thailand.

You can fill out and submit the TDAC (Thailand Digital Arrival Card) starting three days/72 hours before your planned entry; it only takes five minutes on your home computer, it takes a little bit longer on the smartphone

It's important not to fall for fraudulent websites that charge a fee for the TDAC—they're all scammers. The official TDAC is free of charge. The correct ending of the link has to be “go” and “th”

Open the official website and simply fill it out pro forma.

Create a note or a Word .doc document on your computer with the requested information, e.g., passport number, name and address in your home country, primary address in Thailand, and so on.

Then, starting up from three days/72 hours before your planned entry, you can copy and paste the information into the TDAC—it only takes two minutes!

NOTE: The "Visa Number" and "Departure" from Thailand are NOT mandatory required fields- you can leave them blank.

BUT: As soon as you click on one of these fields not marked with a red *asterisk or start typing, an error message will appear if you don't fill out anything else. Then you would have to cancel everything and start over.

The TDAC confirmation will reach your email inbox shortly after you have submitted the form. You should print out this email confirmation, as it contains a QR-code. Mainly expats who apply every year for their annual “extension of stay permit”, should print it out, because a printed and signed copy of the TDAC could be a part of the document submission on Immigration

If you don't have to present the printed TDAC at the immigration counter, it doesn't mean anything - the border official will see the TDAC you submitted on his/her computer screen as soon as they scan your passport, so they won't ask again

The TDAC is not a visa, it is only an information you give Thai authorities about your person, your arrival information and your place of stay.

Assuming you haven't completed a TDAC, they won't let you enter the country but will send you back to the terminals in front of the Immigration desks with a request to submit it.

Jon Jom that's up to you. I was departing UK, that's the number I used. As I said, after landing in Delhi my flight number changed after we landed because we missed the connection, so if I had used that it would have been wrong. There was no issue with immigration.

Lynnette Munoz it's where you boarded the aircraft to get to Thailand. If you have a layover, it's the layover departure point.

Nigel Vincent it doesn't matter. You boarded in first airport. It's on your ticket. I boarded in uk via Delhi, but the Delhi phuket flight was missed and so the flight number changed. But the flight number where I boarded didn't change.
