TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses concerns regarding the validity of a UK passport for entry into Thailand, specifically when there are less than 7 months remaining before expiration. Most comments suggest that as long as the passport has more than 6 months of validity remaining on the date of entry, it should be fine. However, there's a strong consensus that it's advisable to renew the passport to avoid potential issues with airlines or immigration officers, especially since airline policies might be stricter than Thailand's entry requirements.
Should be fine, you could ask your flight carrier if its okay because thats the one who is gonna be the problem as they are in the hook to bring you back
To enter Thailand from the UK, your passport must have at least six months of validity remaining from your arrival date, plus at least one blank page; this is a strict Thai government requirement, even if you're only staying a short time under the visa exemption scheme, as immigration officers and airlines enforce it, so renew your passport if needed before flying.

Probably. But you can get a fast service and literally have a new passport within a week so it would be good for peace of mind

Not a problem unless you come across a jobsworth ! Renew as passports only good for nine and a half years !

It might cause problems for return not worth the risk cheaper to replace before you come.

the airline will only be willing to let you board if your passport is still valid for a minimum of 6 months. Thailand does NOT require a minimum validity. As long as your passport is still valid for the period you will get stamped in on a visa-exempt entry which is 60 days, you are good to go

That's six months, you're best off getting your passport renewed. Getting into Thailand is becoming less easy, especially Visa Exemption - only two entries per year are now allowed with a return home expected between visits

6 months minimum requirement...you're cutting it fine pal 😬
You’re not returning to uk from Europe so you will be ok

You need to see if you had added time to your passport, previously if you renew your passport slightly earlier, it was added to your new passport so you need to see if your passport is older than 10 years because that’s what it goes by it’s not expiry date anymore. It’s if it’s older than 10 years. You need six months on your passport but it can’t be older than 10 years. X
It's date of entry I will have just less than 7 months

I understand. You say you wish to stay in thailand for a month. Your passport will have less than six months life when you decide to return. There are airlines which require six months on a passport for boarding. You will need to do some homework to make sure you can travel ok.
If he is returning to his home country, airlines will be OK with it. If he is going as a visitor to another country enroute, then no problem. Intransit is not visiting a country. You are not clearing immigration unless your next flight is at another airport.

I went with my son earlier this year. To my horror before we left he told me his passport expired in 3 months, couldn’t get an appointment for a new one, took the chance and immigration never mentioned it.
Always better to be safe than sorry but if you have a flight home before it gets close to running out you will probably be ok.

Take it to a travel agent ,be sure

The fact that it's more than the 6months required, and it's for a monthly holiday, which im guessing you have a return ticket for, I'd say you'll be okay. You're keeping within the regulations of airlines and Thai immigration laws. If immigration officer causes problems, ask for supervisor.

You'll be fine

Get a new one. If you change plans good to go. Had mine in two weeks.

No imo

My advice is I think you are fine but if you are asking the question then you are clearly concerned. If you have the time then why stress yourself. Just get a new passport.

If you have at least 6 months left on the day you enter Thailand you will have no problem.

Get a new one don't take unnecessary risks

I recently renewed my passport online. It takes a week to come back. (Uk)

Really going to take a chance on being denied! Use common sence. They are just looking for a reason to deny you entry. Renew it.
This information is for people travelling on a full ‘British citizen’ passport from the UK. It is based on the UK government’s understanding of the current rules for the most common types of travel.
The authorities in Thailand set and enforce entry rules. If you’re not sure how these requirements apply to you, contact the Thai Embassy in the UK.
Passport validity requirements
To enter Thailand, your passport must have an ‘expiry date’ at least 6 months after the date you arrive and have at least 1 blank page.
Check with your travel provider that your passport and other travel documents meet requirements. Renew your passport if you need to.
You will be denied entry if you do not have a valid travel document or try to use a passport that has been reported lost or stolen.

Think you need 6 months on it when you fly

It should be fine as long as your passport is valid for more than six months. There is no formal passport validity requirement for entry into Thailand itself, but you may be denied boarding by the airline if the remaining validity is less than six months.

For UK passport holders entering Thailand, your passport needs at least 6 months validity from your entry date and one blank page, even with the 60-day visa exemption, plus proof of onward travel
I assume you found this information on the website of the Thai Embassy in London. You must have at least six months validity remaining on your passport to apply for a visa, and this is also a general recommendation because airlines will often deny boarding on flights to Thailand if the passport validity is shorter, based on their own policies. However, there is no specific immigration regulation in Thailand that formally requires six months validity for entry. I have personally flown with KLM from Amsterdam with a passport that had only three months validity remaining, after the airline checked with Thai immigration. Entry at land borders is possible as long as the passport is valid for at least the length of stay you are stamped in for. The only explicit immigration rule regarding passport validity is that you must have at least 30 days validity remaining to be granted a 15 day Visa on Arrival.
For Thailand entry, your passport needs at least 6 months validity from your arrival date, a blank page, and you'll need a return ticket and proof of funds/accommodation. W
For travel from Birmingham to Thailand on Emirates, your passport needs at least 6 months of validity from your arrival date in Thailand, plus one blank page, as
Yes, as mentioned, this is primarily an airline issue, and you will also need a minimum of six months passport validity to apply for a visa. For immigration purposes, the formal requirement is that your passport must be valid for at least the full period you are stamped in for. (15 day Visa on Arrival requires a minimum of 30 days passport validity). With the expiry date of your passport, you are clearly well within the required limits.
