Most are garbage in my opinion. Going cheaper might not be best idea ? Study how to make a claim before you are in need.

Holidaysafe 6 months trip with pre- existing conditions £440 there is a uk gov website that lists all similar companies

Open a Nationwide Flex plus account for £13 per month and get travel insurance for free upto 30 days. To extend for upto 120 days you would need to pay an additional charge, but when compared to the cost of a seperate travel insurance policy it worked out significantly cheaper for me. Existing mediacl issues can also be included, but at an extra cost - of course.

@David ********
it's going up in December to £15 but still good value if you are going on 2 or three shorter trips in a year , next year my wife and me are doing Thailand 22 days ,Greece 10 days ,and lanzarote 7 days ,and we are over 60 so it should cover all 3 trips
David *********
@Kevin ********
it’s going upto £18
Kevin *********
@David ********
ah that's right I knew it was going up , still cheaper especially if you are over a certain age , some of the quotes I got were ridiculous
Eddie ******
@David ********
we have flex plus account it wasn't cheaper for a 120day extension for me Quote £2450 as against 50% of that with saga, for 2 adults with minimal health issues but both in our late 70s. Last year for 180 days was £480 only difference this year 1 year older, but nationwide changed there insurance provider. No longer gives 180 days

Even for the 30 days you need a medical screening the cost is an extra £170 for us.

Insurance costs have gone through the roof this year

@Eddie *****
I have taken it out for 120 days this year (I leave uk in 2 weeks) and it cost me less than £200. I think the issue is your age. I am 52 years old
Eddie ******
@David ********
Yes age is the problem so keep traveling whilst you are young.

I have found a decent one with aviva but for a max of 90 days.

As I’m planning on travelling for 120 days do you think it’s possible to get 90 days (multi trip travel) but then add 30 days with a company that does nomad or single trip cover? Or would that 30 day single trip also be expensive?
Colin *********************
I am looking for similar. Single-trip policies are very expensive. I found an annual policy with LV that would cover 90 days but if you include flights my trip would be 92. They refused. This means only single-trip possible and the cheapest quotes I have found for 92 days are around £300.

yes I’m aware and I’m happy with the extra pounds sterling. My issue is either only being able to get a max 90 days

Word of caution, before you buy TI think about what you're insuring, you'll be very surprised to learn that a lot of the things you're insuring are not covered, 20% devaluation per year, so if they're more than 5 years old you have no claim, eg; your suitcase, your laptop, your camera, your phone, etc etc, I'm speaking from experience, I recently had my suitcase damaged beyond repair, and all the valuable items in it we're not covered due to this fact, read the fine print !
Ben *******
Insure and go website best cover and cheapest
Aaron *******
I always get a yearly policy with Allianz. Not really expensive. Came in handy during COVID, to show I had insurance to enter Thailand.
Oliver *****
AXA or Cigna offer very good cover.

Don’t rely on insurance from credit card companies 😬

Any insurance will not cover pre existing conditions
Cato *******************
@Ann ***********
That is incorrect.... I have a number of pre existing conditions and always manage to receive adequate cover.... every case is measured on a case by case basis so to say "any insurance will not cover pre existing conditions "is not factual !
Ann ************
@Cato ******************
like i said the hospitals will charge crazy prices for pre existing care and insurance always has a limit
Cato *******************
@Ann ***********
I am in remission from cancer and the Insurance companies have been very kindto me... transparency is they key .... again my husband has had issues and once again a fuck bucks more... Hospitals have never charged crazy prices for us... I am a health professional and if an Insurance company agrees to a certain hospital and treatment the hospital charges are agreed beforehand!

I am after travel insurance. In the uk they cover for pre existing conditions.

It would cost £404 for 90 but goes up to £1037 for 120 days.

This is my predicament

it's worth paying to be able to travel without worrying x

@Tony ********
I think that that is standard. I pay in the UK £450+ for Travel Annual Insurance with ore-existing conditions, which only covers 60 days in each travel period. I have been told by AXA staff in Bangkok that for certain pre-existing conditions such as a previous Heart Attack Health Insurance, is impossible to find.

it’s not a problem getting it for that price for 90 days in the uk. I used aviva

i checked several UK firms in the last week or so and they ALL accept existing conditions. YOU are incorrect here.

@Trevor ************
you will find that the hospitals will charge a lot more if its pre existing

@Ann ***********
i have more experience with Thai hospitals than you will ever have. I paid over £50,000 a few years back for a number of operations my fiancee needed after a car crash. The point about insurance is it doesn't matter what the hospitals charge, the insurance covers it. Just accept you were incorrect, you"ve had half a dozen goes at defending your postion and you are STILL wrong. Give it up already 😏

@Gary ********
I don't get it. I'm 71 and bought the insurance online via a compare the market site. I paid even more last year. Somehow they must see me coming online and raise the price. No serious health issues.

Just Google 'compare the market.com'

Enter your pre-existing conditions, mine were high blood pressure, high cholesterol and it will give you a quote.

Mine was with virgin and it was around £100 cover for a year going to Thailand.
George *******
@Iain *****
You say for a year, but that doesn't mean cover for 365 days consecutive, abroad, or does it? Find it hard to believe any travel insurance would cover a trip of one year long.
John ***********
@George ******
If for a year, it's super cheap. I paid $A260 for a month in Thailand, and that was the cheapest comprehensive insurance available.
George *******
@John **********
I agree, but the original poster said he was looking for insurance that'd cover a 120 day trip.
Iain ******
@George ******
the cover is for a year for as many trips as I want not exceeding a certain number of days .. per trip .. the number of which I can't recall .

So yes.. you are correct

Dont use regency

Get an American Express card and pay your travel with that, than you have a travel insurance for 120 days. Price around $700.

Revolut card metal plan or above , pay the travel with it and full insurance with HUGE coverage . I unfortunately had to use it and they were great . Few emails and calls and all cover from them upfront. I hope you don't need to use it, but give it a go.
