TLDR : Answer Summary
You can extend your 30-day tourist visa at your local Thai immigration office, not just at Chaeng Watthana. Some other offices may also require a TM30 receipt, so it's best to check with your local immigration office for their specific requirements and procedures.

Okay, now that we know WHY you're here on a 30 day visa exempt entry (there is no such thing as a 30 day tourist visa on arrival :O) we can address what you should do to sort this out.

Right now how many days do you have left on the 30 day visa exempt entry stamp you got when you stamped in?

You can use the immigration office which serves the address you would provide and some immigration office requires TM 30 receipt, some don't.

If you're in Bangkok, Chaeng Watthana is it.
