TLDR : Answer Summary
You can apply for your Thailand e-visa now or in a few weeks, as it is valid for entering Thailand for 90 days after issuance. The Thai embassy in London typically processes applications in 2-3 business days. There's also a potential new visa exemption allowing for 60 days, expected to start in early July.
90 DAY REPORTING RESOURCES / SERVICES
Use the trusted Thailand 90 Day Reporting Serviceto get your in-person report done and mailed to you for as low as 375 THB (even if the online system doesn't work for you).
For immediate assistance, contact Thai Visa Centre directly via LINE at @ThaiVisaCentre or Email them.
Also keep an eye for the new visa exemption which is allowing 60 days it hasn’t started yet but what I’ve heard not sure if it’s true it’s starting the beginning of July
Interesting the only official announcement was on the PR Thai Government Facebook page, and this has now been removed. I'd say someone has done the maths and worked out they will lose millions of baht in lost revenue!
I was referring to the official Thai government Facebook page. There's plenty of other clickbait stories doing the rounds. This is one such story from last year that went no further. Unfortunately Thailand is notorious for individual ministers spouting stories which go no further once the government looks at the full ramifications
It's really up to you when to apply. A tourist visa is valid for entering Thailand for 90 days after it's issued by the embassy. The Thai embassy in London is very efficient and usually processes applications in 2-3 business days.
So you have a window of about 10 weeks you can apply and be fairly safe
