I'm from UK and want to go to Thailand for 58 days. On one site it says I need to apply for a visa 4 weeks before the trip:
[members only]
But on the evisa site it doesn't mention any timeframe.
[members only]/
The evisa requires me to have flights booked so I don't want to book flights before knowing the evisa will come in time.
How long does it take to get accepted for an eVisa? How far in advance do I need to book (and why doesn't it say this on the eVisa site?)
Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking clarification on the timing for applying for an eVisa to Thailand, specifically for a 58-day stay, and whether they need to book flights in advance. They note conflicting information between the Thai Embassy website and the eVisa site about application timelines. Comments suggest that eVisa processing takes around 5 to 7 working days after document acceptance, with some users reporting quicker processing times. There are also discussions regarding visa exemptions and possible extensions once in Thailand.
and on that note because it seems the visa questions are answered we are done. If the O/P wants the thread opened up again, message a mod/admin staff member

On a related note can anyone recommend an SHA+ hotel or find a way to get a good one hear Khaosan Rd (for the 1 night quarantine thing) thx...
if you didn't BUY a visa from the thai consulate before you came here but when you showed up were stamped in for free for 30 days you entered on what's called a visa exempt entry. SO you wouldn't mention them if you haven't applied for a visa before

30 days visa exempt, 30 day extension (1900 baht inside thailand)
no problem, visa exempt on artival, before 30 days, visit immigration office for 30 day extension, need forms, photo etc etc. This has never changed during covid.
Iām going January 24th , got my visa passed off last week . You will need a 60 day visa. Any questions feel free to ask

When they have accepted your documents they tell you by email and they say it takes 5 to 7 working days from then to be processed. Mine took less than three days from acceptance of documents.

I applied for the TR60 from RTE London with just a screenshot of the flights I was probably going to book. That worked for me just over a week ago, about 3 days to get it approved.
Thanks - I guess the Visa starts from the flight date you give them - do you know if it just ends 60 days after that, or on the end flight date you give them?
Also do you know if you still have to fly directly to your final destination in Thailand as internal flights aren't allowed (or is that information now out of date)?
I was thinking of flying into BKK - then heading up to Chiang Mai a few days later if possible?
Your visa is valid to enter Thailand anytime up to 90 days after the day it was issued. You are then stamped in for the duration allowed by the visa you applied for. Domestic flights are operating so after you land and complete your Test & Go or whatever applies to you then you can fly elsewhere within Thailand.
Check with the Royal Thai embassy/consulate in the country you travel from. For example, London Embassy says "Please apply for a visa at least 4 weeks in advance before departure.".
Thanks - yes they've been emailed and aren't answering their phone.
They replied after a week initially - now no response for a week.
That's the quote I was talking about - however I believe it was written before the eVisa program reopened and it doesn't say it anywhere on the eVisa application (so many many problems would arise if this were still the case).
