(Edited w/additional clarification)

Earlier in the year when the proposed changes to VOA, Visa exempt, and DTV were announced, it was also mentioned that the Non-immigration visas were going to change by reducing the number of categories/types with possible changes in the requirements. The window mentioned was Sept/Oct.(Dec?) I've not heard anything since. I know there's a different Administration in place now, but has there been any talk of the changes?

I can't find the original article but this has the bulleted "mid-term measures" I read before.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about the status of proposed changes to Non-immigration visas in Thailand, which were anticipated between September and October. They reference earlier announcements regarding the reduction of visa categories and potential requirement changes, but seek updates due to a lack of recent information. Comments reflect uncertainty, with one user recalling only a mention of lowered insurance requirements, while another notes hearsay about long-term visa reviews.

It was in the press that the long term visas were being reviewed and that there were proposed changes but no detail and heard nothing since.

thanks. I've been looking but I hadn't seen anything either. I thought I would ask here since this group seems to have a good depth of knowledge and a wealth of resources. I'll be starting the process next year, so I'll still have time in case changes come about. ๐Ÿ˜‰

yes OA but think there was other classes as well that may require insurance not just OA.

But some embassies are insisting on insurance for the 90 day non O maybe its a sign they may change
