If my STV last extension finishes 7th December, and I go to my local immigration office in Trat on 26th November for a Covid extension, will it start the day I'm in there or when stv finishes?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The start date for a Covid extension applied for at the immigration office can vary depending on the office's decision. Some offices may begin the extension on the application date, while others may add it to the existing expiration date of the STV. If you're considering applying on 26th November, be aware that it would only add a few days if they start it on the application date.

Whether the covid extension starts on the date you go to the immigration office or whether the add it to your existing expiration date on your last STV extension is totally up to the office you deal with. Some will start it on the date you apply and some will add it to your expiration date.

If they don't add it to your current stamp, realize we're talking about only 11 days that you'd be losing by going on the 26th to get the covid extension before they run out. And keep in mind your other option is to leave the country. Go talk to them and see what they say.

Each immigration office has their own policy. Talking to Rayong won't do any good if you live in Trat. If they say no, then show proof of rebooked airline tickets showing you are planning to leave the country as soon as possible.

I realize that because of the 90 day reporting, but we were near there, and they did clarify a few ideas for me

I recently had my flights cancelled on the 30 th November..so been trying that one..understand the 11 day part which I may have to forfeit..but there will be more flights early new year..and I'm midway with my vax program which will make it a bit easier also..

That's assuming you even manage to get the COVID extension in the first place. That's no guarantee for someone on an STV.

Right, I forgot that part. Some offices are saying that people on STV's can't get covid extensions 😕
