Quick update on my visit to HUA HIN IMMIGRATION yesterday for a 12 month permission to stay based on retirement.

They had a IO on the door to check through all paperwork PRIOR to presenting my documents for approval.

I had the required financial requirements in foreign currency supported by the usual bank letter which had the days conversion rate and total fund available. No issues.

NO COPIES were required for any of the documents, except bank book & passport.

The IO did fill out an additional form to stay over 90 days, which seemed a bit odd to me as I was applying for 365 days...

All forms presented at the desk. All hunky dory, pain free. 1900b lighter.

It took about 40 minutes from the time i sat with IO at the front desk to walking out the door.

It was busy so probably had an additional 45 minutes wait prior.

Maybe immigration are finally getting their act together.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A recent visit to Hua Hin Immigration for a 12 month retirement permission to stay was reported positively, with a new IO procedure at the door to help pre-check documents. The applicant successfully presented their financial documentation without needing extra copies, aside from the bank book and passport. An oddity was noted regarding an additional TM47 form for staying over 90 days, but overall, the process was swift and efficient, taking about 40 minutes after the initial wait. Comments from others suggest varying experiences across different immigration offices, highlighting the importance of checking specific requirements beforehand.

thanx for the update. As you can read from the posts, different things for different offices. CHECK with your office BEFORE you go to get your extension so you know what they want from you..

Here in Nakhonphanom they also pre check your documents.

And now bank book and bankstatement must be same day as application.

form to stay over 90 days, 90 day report slip or receipt of notification

the "form to stay over 90 days" is the 90-day report slip, it is now probably stapled into your passport

@Gre***
to be more specific it was a TM47 form & no it is not stapled in my passport. This was my 1st "permission to stay" and have not had to report before, I border bounced . Which as I said is why I couldn't understand the reason for the IO filling out the form. But hey ho maybe he just liked paperwork πŸ€”

But not all offices I bet.

Thanks for the reportπŸ˜‰

yep, they understand that an extra person at the door checking the documents before letting you inside, is a big help and reduce the waiting time.
