Hi all, just wanted to share my experience from Immigration division 1, at Chaeng Wattana, Bangkok.
Yesterday I went to apply for extension of stay based on retirement and to transfer stamps.
I had filled in all forms and copied all the necessary passport pages at home.
But when meeting the first officer she added more forms to fill in:
1. A form where I by oath told that I lived at the actual address. Name and and address had to be filled in three times. The last page was half in thai language and signature marked.
I asked kindly what it meant and what I was signing, but the "nice officer" just said "complete form" showing an annoyed face.
2. A form where I admitted that I had understood the rules of overstay and what could happen if I did.
3. I was asked to draw a map showing the way from IO to my house.
These new forms were new to me, and drawing a map... thought it was only for marriage extension.
(Next time I'll bring my wife, it's always more smooth when she follows..)
Everything was extremely slow yesterday. Because of terrible traffic I arrived 10.10 am and left 17.15 pm, at home 19.30
TLDR : Answer Summary
The user shares their experience at the Chaeng Wattana Immigration office in Bangkok while applying for an extension of stay based on retirement. They encountered additional forms that required them to verify their address and understand the rules about overstays, as well as draw a map from the immigration office to their home. The process was lengthy and frustrating, taking almost a full day.
