What are my visa options in Thailand after my contract and visa expire, and can I apply for a new visa without leaving the country?

Hi, everyone! My contract will expire at the end of March. And so will my visa. I am not willing to extend my contract since I’m unhappy with the current school I’m working in. However, I don’t want to leave Thailand. I’ve found an online job. Can anyone please tell me what are my visa options? Is it possible for me to make a student visa or any other type of visa that will allow me to stay here for some time?

Also, if there’s another option for me to stay in Thailand, do I have to leave the country in order to apply for a new visa?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on visa options after their work contract and visa expire at the end of March, as they do not want to leave Thailand. They are exploring the possibility of obtaining a student visa or any other visa to stay longer, while also inquiring about whether they need to leave the country to apply for a new visa. Comments suggest that visa options are limited based on age, and that the user would need to leave Thailand to apply for a new visa after cancelling the current work extension.

You'll definitely have to leave to change visas. You'll need to cancel your work extension first before leaving

Your visa options will be limited. If over 50 a retirement visa, if under 50 an elite visa. But neither allow you to work.
