I've just been rejected for a TR visa in Phnom Penh .. Apparently because i have too many Thai visas in my passport over the past 2 years ...
Does anyone have any ideas what visa I can get to get back home to my wife and kid in BKK ?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user recently faced rejection for a TR visa in Phnom Penh, reportedly due to having too many Thai visas in the past two years. They seek advice on alternative visa options to return to Thailand to be with their wife and child. Community members suggest several routes including entering Thailand on a 30-day visa exemption, applying for a marriage visa (if eligible), or considering retirement and long-term visa options based on age or marriage. There are discussions regarding the implications of multiple visa entries and advice on specific procedures to secure longer-term residency.
NON-O RETIREMENT VISA RESOURCES / SERVICES
Go to the Retirement Visa Section for information on requirements, including age restrictions, financial requirements, and necessary documentation.
For immediate assistance, contact Thai Visa Centre directly via LINE at @ThaiVisaCentre or Email them.
Explore recent discussions by using the Non-O Retirement Visa tag in the search box at the top of the page.
PP is notorious for this, Vientiane or Savannakhet always better choices but I believe they became much stricter with checking wether or not you have the right visa for your stay in TH
there is no automatic entitlement for anyone with a long tourist entry history

You could always fly in get the 30 day visa waiver free stamp then extend it for 30 days for ฿1,900 at your local immigration office…or you could do a land border crossing get the same 30 day visa waiver stamp then extend it for 30 days at your local immigration office for ฿1,900….these will give you time to figure out a long term solution …good luck
there is no official limit on the number of Air arrivals one can do, however you are correct he could get that one overzealous I/O that says otherwise….
Correct but you should know IO will deny you entrance in the kingdom if they think you came too often on visa exemption

Marc Widmer once again there is no official limit on fly ins…so you’re fear mongering is not warranted…could it happen by an I/O then overruled by the I/O’s supervisor it’s happened many times…nothing is certain and nobody knows
they send you to a room where a supervisor talks to you before they make the decision, at that time you can plead your “case” in a very persuasive manner…i take it you have never experienced this before
you are wrong just accept it. You can border hop or pay an agent to say you volunteer hundreds of miles away in a bird sanctuary. Do you know anything or just in a mood. There are people to talk to with that mood. 300 barfine.
a person with zero real life experience with the IO’s is telling md that I have not experienced this many times…you’re a Boy Scout and I truly doubt you have traveled more than me….
Because I'm not a mind reader and at no point in his post does he say his wife is a citizen of Myanmar. He's asking about a Thai visa to visit his wife in Thailand in a Thai visa advice group. It would seem logical to think his wife was Thai and therefore he could obtain a Non Imm O based on marriage. OBVIOUSLY he cant aquire that visa based on marriage but if he's aged 50 or over he could still obtain the Non Imm O visa.
BUT he mentions several times she is Myanmar so I wondered why you suggested it
Sorry If I offended you

If I were you I'd try and get a Non-O visa before returning to Thailand, either for having a Thai wife or being over 50. You surely run a huge risk of being denied entry to Thailand if you try and come back either on a tourist visa or visa exempt. You simply can't live inside Thailand on tourist visas now.

Don't want to sound like I'm lecturing but if you're married you really should have a marriage visa. If you don't have funds in the bank then you should go to Pattaya and pay a visa agent. Expect to pay between 30-35k .
....my wife is Myanmar ..and she gets the Non-immigrant visa connected to the school .. from the advice from others in the group, the retirement visa appears the one i need ...
For the first year i was on COVID extension visas ... They stop last September and since then i've left every 3 months for a bit and then returned on a TR. The Embassy in PP started making problems because they gave me a TR 8 months ago .. they kindly made some phone calls but tell me that they are limiting how many times a year a TR can be issued
"The Embassy in PP started making problems because they gave me a TR 8 months ago .. they kindly made some phone calls but tell me that they are limiting how many times a year a TR can be issued" - sounds like more than a hint to me
cant stay forever on tourist visas, there is a reason there is multiple visa options for different purposes. This was always going to happen to you at some point.
I'd also like to know. I have two visa exempt entries from late last year and currently on a 60 tourist (plus extension). Might need to do exempt if my business visa doesn't come through on time.

Use thai visa service advertised on here for fast track entry at immigration, saves you problems again there! come in visa exempt and use your time to get a longer term visa, plenty of options!

Enter 30 day visa exempt, extend for 30 days. Apply for 90 day Non-o based on marriage, immediately open bank account and deposit 400k baht . Extend for 1 yr after money has been in for 2 months on day of applying for extension. Repeat extension yearly

Mother and daughter have non-immigrant visas as my kid is at school ...but they only give this visa to one parent ... Hence I was previously on TR leaving every 3 months
... Thanks for this ... From others in the group, this looks the best option ..

At over 50 and married to a Thai, you certainly have many realistic visa options available to you. Set yourself up for the long term visa of your choice. Marriage, Retirement, O-X, LTR, Elite.

Non-immigrant ... As my kid (UK) goes to school in BKK, my wife (Myanmar) gets the visa connected to the school... For some weird reason only one parent gets the Non-immigrant visa ..
Enter by LAND only, do not fly in to BKK airport on visa exempt entry u have a high chance of getting denied entry. Avoid Poipet. Enter from Chong Chom (O'Smach). It's a very chill border.

Stories from PP today corroborate the 'denied entry' problem .. i'll look into the O'Smach option
have a friend in similar situation with Laos spouse and kid in school here. He used agent (TVC) for easy transition. But you definitely have options. Out of interest, how many Tourist visas have you had? And always from Phnom Penh? Or others… always interesting. I need to do similar with my non-Thai partner but under 50. It’s not always easy
i was on covid extensions for a year .. then last September i did a visa run to Cambodia .. three months later went to Nepal for a month and came back on a visa on arrival ... Did a visa run to Myanmar in Feb ... And now this run to PP
