# How to visit Thailand every ~2 months for a year?

I think I may want to get Invisalign treatment in Bangkok, which requires coming in for dentist appointments every ~2 months. But I want to be able to travel to other countries in between those appointments.

Could I use the "visa exemption" to enter Thailand ~6 times in a year, if I'm flying in and out? (I'm from the USA.) Or what about Tourist Visas? Are those limited per year?

I know a Thai Elite visa would let me enter and exit many times, but it's a bit expensive...

Any other ideas? (I'm not married to a Thai person or retirement age yet. I work online, not for a Thai company. I'd love to learn the Thai language on an education visa, but I've heard it requires your ongoing presence in the country during that year, and I want to travel internationally a lot. Could it be done with volunteer visa or others?)

Thank you!!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring about the feasibility of visiting Thailand every two months for Invisalign treatments, considering the visa options available to them as a U.S. citizen. They are exploring whether they can utilize the visa exemption policy, as well as the implications of using tourist visas or a Thai Elite visa. Community members shared experiences of frequent entries into Thailand, noting that while there are no strict limits for air entries, excessive back-to-back visits could attract scrutiny from immigration officials. They also discussed alternatives for dental treatment that may reduce the need for frequent visits.

Thanks so much everyone! Awesome to hear that the visa exemptions should work for this, if I decide to do it

I think the only people who run into issues are those who come in on visa exempt and use every single day of the exempt and maybe even an extension and then leave and come right back and do this repeatedly. Visa exempt isn't a replacement for getting a Visa when you should have one and it's not for someone trying to live in Thailand.

But for your situation it should be fine.

There are other, cheaper, invisible aligner providers who do everything online through video consultations. Unless you've some major correction that needs sorting, that the aligners by themselves can't fix, you really shouldn't need to do visits

Ok I'll look into that too, let me know if you know the other brands or anything specific I should look for (besides what you already said). Thanks!

i used a company called straightmyteeth that were very cheap and I've been very happy with the results so far. There's also smile direct club, 6 month smile, straight teeth direct and probably several others

You be should have no problems because according to the law you have unlimited entrance via air to Thailand, but however if you run into an over zealous immigration officer than they could make your life difficult…good luck

Prior to covid i went 2 weeks every month from Australia. I did not have a visa as i didnt need one, but saying that i have heard of people being stopped because they cam to often with out a visa. I was never stopped or questioned

I did it for quite a while. Often well more than 6 times a year. Mix of Tourist Visa and Visa exempt. I do know some people get pulled up about it but not too many. A pal was doing 1 months rotations in Singapore then month off here. After about a year he was told at Swampy to get a Multi Entry TR in Singapore. This was all pre-covid. The only limit I remember is only 2 land border visa exempts per year.
