This question is for a good friend of mine:

Hello. I want to stay three months in Thailand this winter. I was thinking about using my marriage certificate and applying in England. However, I don't see my Thai wife anymore but we are not officially divorced. Any thoughts on that?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user asks about visa options to stay in Thailand for three months, referencing their marriage to a Thai citizen, although they are no longer in contact. Multiple commenters suggest applying for a Single Entry Tourist Visa (SETV) or a Multi Entry Tourist Visa (METV), with explanations about the options and how to extend stay periods.

tourist visas for thailand are sold two ways

SETV <- single entry tourist visa (you have 90 days from the date you buy the visa to enter thailand ONCE and get stamped in for 60 days)

METV <- multi-entry tourist visa (you have 6 months from the date you buy the visa to enter thailand as much as you want and each time you get stamped in for 60 days)

I understand what TV (Thai Visa) means However, I don't understand what SE means. Please clarify.
Steve *******
Milos Zec Single Entry Tourist Visa, not "Thai visa"
Steve *******
Just get the SETV plus a 30 day extention of stay, that gives you 90 days in Thailand
Hans ********
Just get a 2 month tourist visa and extend 30 days while here. As easy as it gets
Tony ********
multi entry tourist visa or single entry and an extension of 30 days
