TLDR : Answer Summary
In Thailand, there are no specific extensions available for exactly 3 months. If a person is eligible, they can switch to a NON-O visa which grants a 90-day stay. However, regular extensions from a tourist or exemption visa typically provide an additional 30 days, and while a Covid extension can offer 60 days, the standard application fee for any extension is 1,900 baht.

Can one apply for the 30 day extension twice? or is it one time only?

There are no extensions for 3 months. If eligible you could switch to a non O visa, which is 90 days. Regular extension off a tourist visa (or exempt) is 30 days. Covid extension is 60 days.

thx for you answer ! so it's actually cheaper to switch to a non O (required price for months of stay) : is there a catch ? more paperwork, only usable once ? is there an official website i can consult on that ?

you’d need a valid reason to switch to that visa. They include being married to a Thai, being over 50, having a

Thai child, volunteering amongst others.

Have a look at

It lists all the available visa/extensions available in Phuket (other offices may differ in what they can offer and requirements - but you’ll get the idea).
