TLDR : Answer Summary
The best visa option for retiring in Thailand while married to a Thai citizen is the Non-O visa, which is specifically designed for foreigners married to Thai nationals. Alternatively, the Non-OA visa can be considered for retirement but does not permit work and has a mandatory health insurance requirement. It is important to note that if you have a Non-O visa based on marriage, you can get a yearly extension and must obtain a re-entry permit to leave and return to Thailand without losing your visa status. There are additional financial criteria, such as having a certain amount in a Thai bank account, for extensions.

Non Imm O based on marriage is you're best option.

non OA requires costly mandatory health insurance, not too sure about UK air quality vs bangkok, also wonder why bangkok people tended to buy/drink bottled water only, not tap water

You have to get non O from thai embassy there first and can renue in thailand

I have non imm O multi based on marriage can this be changed to the non O while in thailand and could i stlill come in / out as work overseas
you can get a yearly extension of it but will need a re entry permit every time , before you leave ,or your extension will cancel on departure. And you'll also need to do a tm30 every time you re enter too.
. Don't know about Pattaya, I'm in Bangkok. Online seems to be working OK though.
Yearly extension on spouse visa has a few financial requirements too eg 400k in bank for 2 months prior to applying. Re entry permits are easy to get at airport before leaving but you'll still be subject to quarantine on return until it changes

Non OA is for retirement. Of course you cannot work with that visa class.

I got my "Thai spouse" visa a few weeks ago. Bit of running about but you can do it yourself. Get all the paperwork in order and it will happen. โชกดี
Non-O and Non-O A are both visa for retirement. Non-O based on marriage with Thai is also an option. However, Non-O A is not recommended because of required border run every 90 days.
No border runs for OA. O for marriage, yes can be retired with that (or even work) but different requirements from OA, including being legally registered marriage in TH
No border runs ever on Non-OA.... Tourist Visa is the one that requires border runs. I think you mean 90 day reporting to immigration, which is required on all Visa's.

Likely the Non-O based on marriage is best for you.

Non-O (married to Thai) is the best. You can also get a work permit on this visa.
