Hello all!

The more I read, the more confused I get!

Let me briefly explain my situation:  I arrived in Thailand from the US on November 29th with a 60-day TR visa that expires on January 27th.

I want to extend my stay longer than a one-time 30-day extension, but the longer Covid extension looks like it expires on January 25th , so am I out of luck or is everyone waiting to see if the Thai government extends the Covid extension?

And if the Thai government does reapply the Covid extension, do I need a Confirmation Letter from my embassy?  Do I need to return to Bangkok for a Covid extension or can any immigration office take care of it?

I’m currently in Phitsanulok heading in the direction of Chiang Mai, but I would like to know if I need to go elsewhere to extend my visa, or should I just focus on a regular 30-day extension?

There is NO guarantee that the current covid extension program will be continued past the 25th of Jan.

GO to your immigration office and ask them if you can get the 60 day covid extension OR if you have to take the regular 30 day extension first 🙂

I went to khon kaen in immigration today got my 60 Covid extension, but it starts from today,

They gave me the option three weeks ago if I wanted the Covid extension straight away or do the 30 day extension first

Does the 30 days start when your visa expires or on the day you actually go to Immigration?

the 30 day extension of stay based on tourism is added on to your existing admitted to stamp.

You follow your original plan. You came to Thailand for maximum 60 days but you can Extend this once with another 30 days. If you plan to stay longer you need another Visa that fits your purpose and length of Stay.

What ever happens with this curtesy program is unknown other than it stops on 25 Jan. We can only wait until new announcements.
