Does anyone have experience cancelling their work permit and non-b visa before leaving Thailand to apply for DTV? Just wondering the process and timing of the steps. Thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
To cancel your work permit and non-B visa in Thailand before applying for a DTV, first cancel your work permit. Take the cancellation paperwork to immigration to cancel your visa. It is advisable to have a letter from your employer to the department of labor, which allows this process to be done a little in advance. After cancelling the non-B visa, you typically have 7 days to leave Thailand, at which point you can apply for the DTV from another country.
