Hello all! Does anyone have experience or advice for a Thai citizen to get a Visa to visit USA? I have a friend wanting to come visit, but after hours of research I cannot seen to find any real solid information. Some places say buy airline tickets first before interview to show return flight, others say wait for Visa approval. 

 It looks like the B2 visit is what they are looking for for tourism visit, but could they take some English classes here and travel as student? Since this can be a costly process, I am hoping some here have some advice about best chances of making this happen.

It's hard to get because they will not come back. You got to give them a very convincing reason why you would come back.

got it. That seems to be the main concern. I read that showing airfare round trip before interview can help, but don't want to lose a bunch of money on airfare if rejected.

my girlfriend got a visa to the US no problem at all. But she's got a good job with long term employment, fluent English, a master's degree, and a passport full of stamps to other countries.

Single women from difficult financial circumstances are typically denied because of the risk of them staying in the US past their visa's expiration.

she does have degree, but just started new job and brand new passport. So I have come to the conclusion that I will just buy a ticket there.

a letter from her employer saying they are Happy for her to take a couple of weeks holiday and she will return to working for them might help if it's a well known employer

no, never buy an airfare because 90% of the time, you will be denied.

Been trying to get my step daughter a visa for years. She has 3 different interviews all denied. Am currently on a 6 year wait list for a green card.

Its just so hard because historically, many Thai (ladies anyway), don’t come back. They want proof that they will return. (Own business/family/own home/taxes paid etc.

No they cannot just take some English classes and get a visa. It's not like Thailand. They would have to be accepted and enrolled in college and show very large financial assets to even be considered for an education visa.
